Happy New Year! We hope you all enjoyed the holiday season. Here's the latest with us...Eric came to visit Eva & I in Bemidji from Dec.23rd - Jan. 3rd (my birthday). We actually spent the majority of our time in Princeton, MN (my parent's house). I think we made the most of every minute of our vacation. Eva got to spend a lot of quality time with her papa & her relatives (from my side of the family). We also did a lot of ice fishing, had a large bonfire, & just hung out. I think I caught the most fish (10). I actually caught the smallest fish of my life - about a 2 inch long sunfish. It was so cute (for a fish) & Eva saw it. Eva came ice fishing with us as well. She liked it but we couldn't stay in the fish house for too long. Anyway, I'm off to Washington D.C. this upcoming Wednesday through Saturday for the NCAA Convention. It's a pretty big deal & most Athletic Director's from universities will be in attendance. I've never been there, so I'm curious to see how things will be. I'm thinking that security will be extremely tight given that the inaugeration is going to be held soon after the convention. Eva is going to be spending time with her grandma & grandpa Cartwright. Eric is still in Colorado Springs & working on trying to get us all together. I'll keep you posted. Anyway, enjoy these pictures & I'll try to update the blog more often. Take care!

Look at papa's fish..Eva is pretty fascinated.

Trying to catch some more fish..Eva & Eric are ice fishing on "Lac Steve" (I just made up that name - we fished out of my dad's stocked fishing pond that he keeps aerated yr. round) 12/08

Eva's trying to catch some fish all by herself. We're starting her young! 12/08

My brother-in-law, Jeff, & my niece Kaitlyn. She is about a year younger than Eva. Eva was born on 8/14/06. I adore Kaitlyn, she is so good & sweet.

Awww (doesn't this make you smile?)....Kaitlyn hugging Eva. 12/08

Eva opening up a big present. 12/24/08

Eva going for a ride in the sled (we didn't spend much time outside over Christmas vacation - it was really cold).

Finally..We got the big bonfire going. My dad had this big pile of wood out behind his pole barn sitting there for awhile. We wanted to wait until Eric could join us before it was lit. He was here this year, so myself, my dad, my aunt Becky & uncle Jim all sat out by this bonfire w/drinks. We had a good time.
