Halloween 2009

Hi everyone!
Times have been busy for us here in Bemidji..Roch & Giselle drove all the way from Quebec to visit during the last week of September. It was great to see them & awesome for Eva to spend some more quality time. She hadn't seen her grandpa Roch or Giselle since Eric & I got married in the summer of '07. Anyway, I have posted a few pics for you. As you can see, Eva is really getting big. We are so proud of her. She is now potty trained (not during the night, but during the day). Since she is potty trained, we can start looking into having her attend preschool part-time. Enjoy these pics! I hope all is well.

New pics

Hi everyone,
It's a little late..so I'm just going to post a few pics. Good news is that Eric's dad & Giselle are coming to visit this upcoming weekend. Yeah!! Eva is excited. We've been telling her that they are coming. We have a few last minute details to wrap up at our house prior to their stay. This house has definately been a project. Tough to get it all done yourself when both parents work & you try to save $ on using contractors too much. Anyway, we're excited for this upcoming weekend. Enjoy these pics!

Beautiful picture of the sunrise on Lake Bemidji..right in front of our house. How calm & serene..perfect if we had a boat & we would definately go for a few waterski runs on this glass! Taken just last week (sept. 09)

Veggies from Eric's garden. It's been awesome. Organic & not comparable to store bought!

Our Maya. She's gotten bigger..still a sweetheart. A little wet in this pic. She was born on June 10th, 2009. 1/2 golden ret./half golden lab. Awesome mix!!

New house!

Hi everyone!
WOW..I didn't realize that it's been so long since I last blogged. A lot has happened since that time..Eric & I bought a new house at the end of May in Bemidji. This house is located right across the street from Lake Bemidji (lake view but without the extra cost & taxes!). We really lucked out on this one. It's a small & cozy house (see pics below), but we love it. Location is so key! This house is located a few blocks from my work, so I can go home for lunch. We also have a fenced in yard & nice garden (for Eric). Now, we just need a little puppy..we'll be ready for one in a few months. One of my co-worker's golden retriever is having puppies & will be ready at the end of Sept/early October. That would be perfect timing. Right now is not a good time since we are so busy with the house.
In other news...Eva is almost 3 yrs. old! Her birthday is August 14th. She is such a little character. Eric & I just adore her. I put a few recent pics on this blog as well. We are working on potty training. She can't go to preschool until she is potty trained & 3 yrs. old.
We are all staying busy & enjoying life here! Enjoy these pics & once I get the internet hooked up in our new house, I'll blog more.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Eric's almost here

Everyone,
Eva & I are so excited for Eric's arrival on April 1st! She told me today a few times "papa in two weeks". Her personality is a lot like him in many ways. I look forward to them reuniting.
We enjoyed our weekend in Bemidji. We went to the BSU Men's Hockey game on Friday night. She was so good at the game. She actually fell asleep in my arms though as we stayed through the end of the game (9:30ish). We missed an awesome game on Saturyday 3-2 overtime win, which gave our team an automatic berth to the NCAA regional. Eva was tired & didn't want to go.
I'm pretty much packed for the Colorado trip. I'll be gone from Tuesday - Monday. Yeah! Can't wait to see Eric. I took a few cute pics of Eva this weekend, but my internet connection is very slow & won't upload. Sorry! If I get a few minutes during my break at work, I'll give it a another try. She is changing so quickly.
Eva is excited to see her "geema" & grandpa. I'll keep you posted. Have a great week!

Visiting Colorado!

Hi everyone,
Well, another week has begun. I have another busy week ahead..In other news..I just booked my flight to Colorado this past weekend! Yeah!! I can't wait. I'll be in Colorado from March 17th - 23rd. I get to see Eric, go skiing, visit friends, etc. This has been a long time coming, so I'm really excited that the dates have finally been set. Anyway, not much else to tell you now. Eva has changed so much since we moved to Bemidji. She's so much fun. I took the picture shown below this past weekend when we were hanging out. Enjoy.

Out for a walk

Hi everyone,
Eva & I had a much needed relaxing weekend. We both have been pretty sick this past week. She went to the Dr. twice two weeks ago. But, she didn't need any medication. I caught what she had. We're o.k. now. We both needed to get outside for some fresh air today. I took Eva to the state park in Bemidji & just walked around. We only saw a few people. It was nice outside as well (around 30 degrees today). I also drove by the local ski resort. It was pretty busy but not bad compared to what I'm used to. It's a good place to start learning how to ski.
I recently took a trip to Washington D.C. mid-January for an NCAA Convention. I was greatful for the experience. I saw some of my old friends from my previous job at UCCS. I really missed them. So, I'm planning a trip out to Colorado in March. I can't wait!! I miss Eric & my friends. It will be a great trip. Yeah! I need to start training to get my ski legs ready.
I put a video of Eva, Eric, & I ice fishing on our youtube acct. If you haven't seen it yet, it's pretty cute. Have a great week.

I love to be outside! 2-8-09

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone,
Happy New Year! We hope you all enjoyed the holiday season. Here's the latest with us...Eric came to visit Eva & I in Bemidji from Dec.23rd - Jan. 3rd (my birthday). We actually spent the majority of our time in Princeton, MN (my parent's house). I think we made the most of every minute of our vacation. Eva got to spend a lot of quality time with her papa & her relatives (from my side of the family). We also did a lot of ice fishing, had a large bonfire, & just hung out. I think I caught the most fish (10). I actually caught the smallest fish of my life - about a 2 inch long sunfish. It was so cute (for a fish) & Eva saw it. Eva came ice fishing with us as well. She liked it but we couldn't stay in the fish house for too long. Anyway, I'm off to Washington D.C. this upcoming Wednesday through Saturday for the NCAA Convention. It's a pretty big deal & most Athletic Director's from universities will be in attendance. I've never been there, so I'm curious to see how things will be. I'm thinking that security will be extremely tight given that the inaugeration is going to be held soon after the convention. Eva is going to be spending time with her grandma & grandpa Cartwright. Eric is still in Colorado Springs & working on trying to get us all together. I'll keep you posted. Anyway, enjoy these pictures & I'll try to update the blog more often. Take care!

Look at papa's fish..Eva is pretty fascinated.

Trying to catch some more fish..Eva & Eric are ice fishing on "Lac Steve" (I just made up that name - we fished out of my dad's stocked fishing pond that he keeps aerated yr. round) 12/08

Eva's trying to catch some fish all by herself. We're starting her young! 12/08

My brother-in-law, Jeff, & my niece Kaitlyn. She is about a year younger than Eva. Eva was born on 8/14/06. I adore Kaitlyn, she is so good & sweet.

Awww (doesn't this make you smile?)....Kaitlyn hugging Eva. 12/08

Eva going for a ride in the sled (we didn't spend much time outside over Christmas vacation - it was really cold).

Finally..We got the big bonfire going. My dad had this big pile of wood out behind his pole barn sitting there for awhile. We wanted to wait until Eric could join us before it was lit. He was here this year, so myself, my dad, my aunt Becky & uncle Jim all sat out by this bonfire w/drinks. We had a good time.
